Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Coordinator (Yemen)

About the role

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator will lead Médecins du Monde’s MHPSS programming for the Yemen mission. Based in the coordination office in Sana’a, the role oversees activities in Aden and Marib, contributes to proposal writing, new project development and the country‑wide MHPSS strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all MHPSS programmes across Yemen, ensuring alignment with MdM’s humanitarian objectives.
• Contribute to the drafting of project proposals and the development of new MHPSS concepts.
• Participate in the elaboration of the national MHPSS strategy under the guidance of the General Coordinator.
• Provide technical leadership and functional management to MHPSS Officers in Sana’a, Aden and Marib.
• Coordinate with other MdM departments, local NGOs and the Ministry of Public Health and Population to integrate MHPSS components into broader programmes.
• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of MHPSS activities, ensuring quality and impact.

Required profile

• Experience in coordinating mental health and psychosocial support programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Proven ability to write project proposals and develop new project concepts.
• Strong analytical skills for strategy development and programme monitoring.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners, including NGOs and government ministries.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
