MEAL Accountability Intern (Aden, Yemen)

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a motivated intern to support accountability and complaints‑feedback mechanisms (CFM) within its MEAL team in Aden, Yemen. This hands‑on position offers practical training on accountability practices, data collection, and beneficiary feedback handling.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, document, and code complaints and feedback from hotline, toll‑free line, feedback boxes, and any new channels.
• Enter all feedback promptly into the CFM database and forward relevant items to the MEAL Team Leader and AAP Officer.
• Escalate serious complaints, including Code of Conduct and SEA violations, through the required channels.
• Coordinate with MEAL and field staff to compile feedback linked to suggestion boxes, ODM/PDM activities, and other MEAL tasks.
• Support verification, assessment, evaluation, and monitoring activities as assigned.
• Follow data‑protection protocols and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required profile

• Interest in humanitarian work and accountability to beneficiaries.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Willingness to learn and apply MEAL and CFM procedures.
• Good communication skills in English.
