About the role
Save the Children International is seeking a short‑term Logistic Officer to support its Yemen programme in Taiz. The role provides comprehensive logistics services for field offices, ensuring that fleet, warehouse, and asset operations run smoothly and comply with organisational and donor standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the vehicle fleet, including allocation, maintenance, servicing, and monthly billing reconciliation.
- Oversee warehouse and stock activities for general and medical supplies, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and compliance with internal procedures.
- Maintain the Master Asset Register for the country programme and compile regular logistics reports.
- Coordinate freight transportation (land and air) in line with programme budgets and cost‑effectiveness goals.
- Act as the focal point for the Total Inventory Management (TIM) system and ensure timely submission of reports to the Head of Supply Chain.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in logistics, fleet, and warehouse management within an NGO or humanitarian context.
- Strong knowledge of donor regulations and internal logistics policies.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely logistics reports.
- Attention to detail and commitment to child‑safety and safeguarding standards.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Fleet ProSave system.
- Experience using the Total Inventory Management (TIM) system.
- Asset register management.
- Warehouse inventory control (FIFO/FEFO principles).
