Lead Architect – Infrastructure Design

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Lead Architect to head the architectural design of infrastructure projects in Qatar. The role covers the full design lifecycle from concept through detailed design and construction support, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design of infrastructure facilities such as pumping stations, utility buildings, substations, district cooling plants, metro stations, bus depots and public realm structures.
• Develop innovative, sustainable and functional design solutions and produce layouts, plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules and specifications.
• Coordinate architectural outputs with civil, structural, MEP, landscape and utilities disciplines and conduct design reviews and quality checks.
• Manage project resources, design schedules, budgets and quality across multiple projects, and participate in value‑engineering and constructability reviews.
• Engage with clients and government authorities, present concepts, obtain approvals and support proposal preparation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading architectural design of large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical expertise and ability to ensure design quality and compliance.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing client and authority relationships.
• Leadership skills to guide architectural teams through all project phases.
