Junior Process Design Engineer

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a motivated Junior Process Design Engineer with around two years of experience to support process engineering and design activities for industrial projects across the Middle East. You will work closely with senior engineers to develop process deliverables, perform engineering calculations, and ensure compliance with company and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process calculations such as line sizing, pressure drop, pump sizing, and equipment selection.
• Prepare datasheets for equipment, valves, and instruments.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and technical discussions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil).
• Maintain engineering documentation, revision control, and support project execution timelines.
• Review vendor documents and technical submissions.
• Support site visits and commissioning activities when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Approximately 2 years of experience in process design engineering.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Water Treatment, or EPC projects is preferred.
• Basic understanding of international engineering standards and safety practices.

Required skills

• Process engineering fundamentals and calculations.
• Creation and interpretation of PFDs and P&IDs.
• Process simulation concepts.
• Familiarity with engineering software for calculations and design.
