ICLA Technical Assistant (Lawyer) – Yemen, Hodeidah

About the role

The ICLA Technical Assistant (Lawyer) supports the implementation of NRC’s ICLA programme in Hodeidah, ensuring safe, inclusive and accountable protection practices. Working at field‑operational level, the assistant coordinates daily activities, monitors compliance and provides legal guidance to beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure ICLA project activities are implemented in line with approved proposals, donor requirements and NRC policies.
• Undertake regular field visits to conduct ICLA activities, provide advice, and run awareness sessions.
• Develop and maintain case management systems and databases of cases.
• Guide beneficiaries seeking legal assistance and conduct group information sessions.
• Conduct trainings, needs assessments and research using focus groups, interviews and questionnaires.
• Analyze and produce quantitative and qualitative activity reports and flag urgent protection issues.
• Support NRC’s awareness‑raising campaigns and community mobilisation efforts.

Required profile

• University degree in law.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience with legal firms, NGOs or international organisations in protection or human‑rights contexts.
• Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery setting in Yemen.
• At least 1 year of experience in the legal field.
• Preferred knowledge of English language.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites.
