Health Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Health Coordinator to provide strategic leadership, technical direction, and management oversight for its integrated health portfolio in Yemen. This role guides health, nutrition, and environmental health (EH) programming across humanitarian, recovery, and resilience contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Set sector vision and priorities, ensuring technical excellence and program quality.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team in designing, implementing, monitoring, and scaling integrated health interventions.
• Align health, nutrition, and EH activities with national priorities, donor requirements, IRC standards, and global best practices.
• Foster partnerships with government agencies, donors, clusters, and local organizations.
• Contribute to country program strategy, business development, resource mobilization, emergency preparedness, and organizational leadership as a member of the Extended Senior Management Team.

Required profile

• Strategic, self‑motivated leader comfortable operating with high autonomy.
• Experience in humanitarian health programming and coordination.
• Strong understanding of health, nutrition, and environmental health sectors.
• Ability to work across humanitarian, recovery, and resilience contexts.
