Field Service Technician – Mobile Motor Service Division

About the role

The Field Service Technician will provide on‑site electrical and mechanical support for motor and power‑system equipment within the Mobile Motor Service Division. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of a wide range of industrial drives, motors, and related equipment at customer locations.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and adhere to Jay Industrial Repair safety procedures.
• Maintain Jay Industrial Repair quality standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installation, and start‑up assistance on AC and DC adjustable speed drives, solid‑state starters, protection relays, and engine‑driven generators.
• Conduct IR scanning, vibration analysis, and balancing for various mechanical applications.
• Execute motor removals and installations, wind‑power generator service, large industrial motor inspections, and work on switch‑gear, controls, dry and liquid‑filled transformers, UPS systems, circuit breakers, and servo motors.
• Handle a variety of on‑site field service tasks as well as in‑shop customer equipment repairs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant field experience.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical controls, motor repair, and power systems.
• Strong mechanical, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Decision‑making capability under time or customer pressure.
• Excellent customer relationship skills.
• Highly motivated, organized, detail‑oriented and able to work well in a team.
