Economic Recovery Officer

About the role

The Economic Recovery Officer will support the implementation of livelihoods and economic recovery interventions in Hajjah Governorate under the supervision of the Economic Recovery Manager. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective programmes that help beneficiaries rebuild businesses, access markets and financial services, and achieve sustainable income.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day implementation of economic recovery activities, including beneficiary registration and verification.
• Review business plans for feasibility and cost‑effectiveness, and oversee grant utilisation.
• Monitor and support beneficiary businesses, facilitating market, supplier and financial service linkages.
• Provide technical guidance to implementing partners to ensure consistent quality of delivery.
• Coordinate community engagement, partner collaboration, and documentation in line with DRC and donor requirements.
• Identify beneficiaries, deliver business‑skills and financial‑literacy training, and facilitate savings groups.
• Manage business grant and cash‑plus distributions, and provide post‑distribution coaching and mentoring.
• Prepare regular reports and ensure compliance with donor reporting standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in implementing livelihoods, economic recovery or early‑recovery programmes.
• Familiarity with beneficiary identification, business plan assessment, and grant management processes.
• Ability to work closely with partners, communities and donors to achieve programme objectives.
• Strong monitoring and reporting skills to ensure compliance with DRC and donor standards.
