Driver – UN Resident Coordinator Office, Aden

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Aden is seeking a reliable driver to support the safe transport of staff, visitors and cargo. This full‑time position plays a key role in ensuring smooth logistics for the office’s daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive vehicles safely to transport authorised personnel and general cargo.
• Deliver parcels, documents and other items between the office, ministries, embassies and other institutions.
• Make minor purchases, collect urgent supplies from local vendors and handle customs formalities for imported goods.
• Receive officials at the airport and assist with immigration and customs procedures.
• Maintain assigned vehicles – check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, perform minor repairs and arrange for larger repairs.
• Log fuel consumption, maintenance activities and report any damage or loss.
• Follow accident‑reporting protocols and apply good judgment in all assignments.
• Assist with data collection, analysis and preparation of reports or visual presentations as needed.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and experience driving vehicles safely in a professional setting.
• Ability to interact tactfully with officials, visitors and UN staff.
• Familiarity with customs regulations and ability to handle related paperwork.
• Basic vehicle‑maintenance knowledge and attention to detail.
• Capability to support data‑related tasks such as reporting and visualisation.
