Driver – Al-Mokha (UG)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a reliable driver to support its operations in Al‑Mokha. The incumbent will ensure safe and efficient transportation for staff, maintain the vehicle in good condition, and handle routine logistical tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide transportation for IOM staff as required.
• Maintain adequate fuel levels and ensure the vehicle is in proper running condition.
• Perform day‑to‑day vehicle maintenance: check oil, water, battery, tyre pressure and attend to routine repairs.
• Deliver letters, mail and packages on behalf of IOM.
• Operate and maintain emergency communication equipment (VHF/UHF radios) and ensure emergency supplies are always on board.
• Maintain a vehicle logbook by recording daily movements, fuel consumption and mileage.
• Notify supervisors of any repairs or issues with the vehicle.
• Assist staff with entering and exiting the vehicle, baggage handling and provide umbrella service in foul weather.
• Obey all traffic laws and limits at all times.

Required profile

• Must be able to provide transportation for IOM staff as required.
• Must ensure the vehicle is fueled and kept in good running condition.
• Must obey all traffic laws and limits.

Required skills

• Operation of VHF/UHF radios.
• Vehicle logbook maintenance.
