Technical Assistant (Lawyer) – ICLA, Amran

About the role

The ICLA Technical Assistant (Lawyer) supports the implementation of NRC’s ICLA programme in Amran, ensuring protection standards and accountable service delivery for beneficiaries. Working at field level, the officer coordinates activities, monitors compliance with donor and NRC policies, and provides legal guidance to vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ICLA project activities in line with approved proposals, donor requirements and NRC policies.
• Conduct regular field visits, provide legal counseling, and run awareness sessions for beneficiaries.
• Develop and maintain case management systems and databases of legal cases.
• Facilitate group information sessions, outreach campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
• Support needs assessments, research, and training needs analyses for target groups.
• Document findings, produce quantitative and qualitative reports, and flag urgent protection issues to the Project Officer.

Required profile

• University degree in Law.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with legal firms, NGOs or international organisations in protection or human‑rights contexts.
• Experience working as a legal and protection staff member in humanitarian settings in Yemen.
• At least 1 year of direct legal work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites.
• Preferred knowledge of English language.
