Security and Liaison Officer – West Coast

About the role

The HALO Trust is seeking a Security and Liaison Officer (SLO) for its West Coast operations in Mokha, Yemen. The SLO will ensure safe deployment of teams, manage security risks, and maintain critical relationships with government and security actors across the Taiz governorate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with key government departments, local and international security actors.
• Assist in selecting AOOs for mine and UXO clearance and oversee secure journey management.
• Gather and analyse security information, monitoring political and security developments.
• Contribute to security risk management plans, SOPs, and emergency protocols.
• Lead security vetting of new staff and support recruitment of security personnel.
• Conduct accident and incident investigations and support administrative duties.
• Coordinate emergency drills, relocation, hibernation, or evacuation protocols.
• Manage liaison correspondence, accreditation, registrations, and update administrative processes per local law.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of senior liaison or security experience with NGOs.
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, humanitarian work, security risk management or related field.
• Advanced spoken and written English.
• Proven ability to work under stress and produce high‑level political, security and conflict analysis.
