Protection Intern - Legal Aid

About the role

The Protection Intern – Legal Aid will support the Danish Refugee Council’s protection team in Lahj, Yemen. Working under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader and guidance of legal‑aid staff, the intern will assist with community outreach, administrative and logistical tasks for legal awareness and civil documentation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in community outreach and mobilisation using approved messages and materials.
• Prepare venues, ensure accessibility, privacy and logistics for legal awareness sessions and civil documentation events.
• Distribute DRC information materials and communicate service schedules, locations and access arrangements.
• Record attendance and collect minimal required data using DRC tools under staff direction.
• Support field visits, mobile activities and appointment scheduling as directed by legal‑aid staff.
• Coordinate with community focal points and the Civil Registration Authority for civil documentation activities.
• Handle non‑substantive administrative tasks, organise activity materials and refer any legal, protection or safeguarding concerns through approved channels.
• Maintain activity records, attendance sheets and registration forms as required.
