About the role
The Program Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Country Director to lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian programmes in Yemen. This role ensures that activities are delivered efficiently, comply with donor requirements, and respond to the needs identified through field assessments.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop humanitarian programmes based on needs assessments and coordination with partners.
- Coordinate project activities across sectors such as food aid, shelter, health, and WASH.
- Monitor project progress, adjust plans, and ensure alignment with organisational strategy and humanitarian standards.
- Supervise field staff and project teams, facilitating communication between logistics, finance, and HR.
- Prepare regular reports for donors and stakeholders and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
- Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, UN agencies, and community leaders; represent the organisation in coordination meetings.
- Participate in rapid assessments and emergency interventions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3–7 years of experience in humanitarian or development work, preferably in emergency or conflict settings.
- Proven experience managing projects and budgets in donor‑funded programmes.
Required skills
- Strong project management and organisational abilities.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of humanitarian principles (e.g., Sphere standards) and donor compliance.
