National Engineer Analyst – Civil

About the role

The National Engineer Analyst – Civil will support FAO projects in Yemen by designing, reviewing, and supervising civil and structural works. The position is based in the FAO Representation in Aden and works under the guidance of the FAO Representative and the Construction Engineer Specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field assessments of target sites to evaluate structural, architectural, and MEP conditions and identify rehabilitation needs.
• Prepare detailed technical designs, drawings, specifications, and scope‑of‑work documents in line with international standards and FAO safety codes.
• Develop accurate bills of quantities, cost estimates, and implementation timelines for civil, architectural, and MEP works.
• Provide technical inputs and cost analyses for project proposals, budgets, and implementation plans under supervision.
• Maintain rigorous project documentation and ensure all technical files meet standardized requirements.
• Monitor site activities, compile field information, and produce daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Assist the Construction Engineer Specialist in preparing inputs for final project handover and technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in civil and structural engineering, including design and construction supervision.
• Experience working on development or humanitarian projects is preferred.
