MEAL Intern – Monitoring & Evaluation Support

About the role

Under the guidance of the MEAL Team Leader, the MEAL Intern will support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for mixed migration interventions in Lahj (Kharaz), Yemen. The role involves conducting field visits, collecting beneficiary feedback, and assisting with data management to ensure programme quality and accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person data collection using paper questionnaires or KoBo Collect during programme patrols to assess beneficiary satisfaction.
• Accompany the programme team on field patrols and deliver awareness sessions for newly arrived migrants.
• Enter and export satisfaction forms promptly, updating the master satisfaction database.
• Perform random visits to meal distribution sites to verify quantity and quality of meals provided.
• Record and report beneficiaries’ feedback and complaints, ensuring protection‑sensitive information is forwarded through appropriate channels.
• Support the MEAL Team Leader with any additional tasks related to monitoring and accountability.

Required profile

• Fluency in Oromo, Amharic, Tigrinya and Somali.
• Ability to write clear reports in English.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to work in a challenging field environment.
• Commitment to DRC’s values and humanitarian principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using KoBo Collect or similar mobile data‑collection tools.
