MEAL Intern

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Intern will support the MEAL team in delivering high‑quality monitoring activities for mixed migration interventions in Lahj (Kharaz), Yemen. Working under the guidance of the MEAL Team Leader, the intern will accompany programme staff on field patrols, collect beneficiary feedback, and help ensure accountability and learning throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑person data collection using paper questionnaires or KoBo Collect to measure beneficiary satisfaction.
• Accompany programme teams on patrols and regular field visits, delivering awareness sessions for newly arrived migrants.
• Record and share feedback, complaints and protection concerns promptly with the MEAL Team Leader.
• Enter and export satisfaction forms into the master database in a timely manner.
• Perform random visits to meal distribution points to verify quantity and quality of meals.
• Support the MEAL Team Leader with any additional tasks related to monitoring and accountability.

Required profile

• Fluent in Oromo, Amharic, Tigrinya and Somali.
• Ability to write clear reports in English.
• Strong communication and training skills.
• Flexible, attentive listener who adheres to DRC values and ethical standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using KoBo Collect for data gathering.
• Basic knowledge of paper‑based questionnaire administration.
