Lead Civil Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Lead Civil Structural Design Engineer to deliver high‑quality civil engineering services for oil, gas, petrochemical and refinery projects across the Middle East. You will coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet statutory, regulatory and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering services on time, within budget and to client expectations.
• Analyse and design steel and concrete structures according to international codes (European, American, British, process industry).
• Design foundations for static loads, seismic events and extreme wind conditions.
• Prepare Basis of Design documents, material specifications, take‑offs, scopes of work and technical reports.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary design, ensuring clash‑free CAD drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Maintain a safety‑first attitude in all design and office activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or refinery sectors.
• Experience in FEED or EPC engineering design is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Qatar codes and standards.

Required skills

• Proficient with MS Office.
• Experienced in ETABS, SAFE, STAAD PRO.
• Competent in foundation design software.
• Skilled in MicroStation and AutoCAD for structural and foundation drawings.
