Humanitarian Mine Action Officer – Medic (3 positions)

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking three qualified Medic officers to support mine‑action teams in conflict‑affected areas. The role involves providing emergency medical care, ensuring the readiness of medical equipment, and coordinating casualty evacuation during de‑mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of local medical facilities and contact details.
• Ensure all assigned medical equipment is complete, serviceable, and stored according to SOPs.
• Remain on‑call and available throughout clearance activities, monitoring field operations via radio or cell phone.
• Provide immediate medical support to stabilise casualties until MEDEVAC/CASEVAC resources arrive.
• Prepare and regularly update CASEVAC plans for each work site and conduct monthly exercises.
• Inspect and verify the validity of medicines, drugs, and equipment daily.
• Report any medical‑related issues to the Mine Action Team Leader.
• Conduct refresher and continuation medical training for project staff.
• Communicate effectively with receiving hospitals and physicians.

Required profile

• Qualified medical professional with experience in emergency or trauma care.
• Ability to work in remote, high‑risk field environments.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with team members and external medical facilities.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and conduct on site.
