Housekeepers Team Leader

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a Housekeepers Team Leader to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of its premises in Aden. The role combines hands‑on housekeeping duties with the supervision and development of a small team of housekeepers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and train housekeeping staff assigned to ICRC premises.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor daily cleaning and laundry activities.
• Organise work schedules, annual leave and resource allocation for the team.
• Purchase cleaning materials and optimise their use.
• Support other departments with ad‑hoc handy tasks when required.
• Identify staff development needs and arrange appropriate training.
• Escalate significant premises or material issues to senior supervisors.

Required profile

• Minimum high school education.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a housekeeping team.
• Good physical condition and ability to work long, stressful hours.
• Intermediate proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong people‑management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of hygiene principles.
• Ability to perform housekeeping tasks when needed.
