Finance Coordinator (Treasury & Accounting)

About the role

The Finance Coordinator (Treasury) supports the Director of Finance in delivering high‑quality financial services for Save the Children’s operations in Yemen. The role covers treasury, accounting, payroll, and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with SCI policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process monthly payroll, prepare salary transfer letters and coordinate with banks.
• Verify staff entitlement documents and issue checks or bank transfers.
• Maintain control accounts, ensuring zero balances before month‑end close.
• Reconcile debtor and creditor accounts.
• Monitor cash‑balance KPI and keep end‑of‑month cash below $100k.
• Prepare and circulate the Monthly Financial Report (MFR) for global review.
• Correct coding errors in the Agresso system in collaboration with Finance Manager and Director.
• Update staff on new Statements of Financial (SOFs) and DRCs via Data Validation GLOSS sheet.
• Coordinate with the tax authority on income‑tax filings and respond to queries.
• Provide financial information to Regional Office and Centre as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance, accounting, treasury or payroll within a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Familiarity with financial management systems, preferably Agresso.
• Strong understanding of cash management, tax compliance and financial reporting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities.
