Finance Coordinator – Budgeting & Reporting (Aden)

About the role

The Finance Coordinator – Budgeting & Reporting supports Save the Children’s mission in Yemen by overseeing the country office’s financial reporting, master budgeting, donor reporting and audit activities. The role ensures compliance with donor requirements and internal policies while providing high‑quality financial services to program teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit member/donor financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and incorporate feedback.
• Attend regular calls with donors to discuss award status and address queries.
• Produce end‑of‑year special reports for donors such as NORAD and SIDA.
• Develop monthly phasing and forecasts for operational costs, including personnel and office expenses.
• Participate in award opening, kick‑off, pre‑closeout, closeout and post‑closeout meetings for the Yemen country office.
• Generate internal BVA reports and share spending analysis with country office heads.
• Monitor spending against key performance indicators and provide forecasted spending by award.
• Support audit processes and ensure financial and grants compliance.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting and donor reporting, preferably in a humanitarian or NGO setting.
• Familiarity with donor compliance requirements (e.g., NORAD, SIDA).
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with donors and internal teams.
