Field Manager – Operations in Yemen

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Field Manager to lead and support its humanitarian operations in the governorates of Shabwah and Abyan, Yemen. Reporting to the Field Coordinator, the incumbent will represent IRC with government ministries, local communities, partners and coordination forums, ensuring safe, compliant and effective field activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day program and operational activities in the sub‑field office of Shabwah and provide coverage for Abyan.
• Represent IRC with government line ministries, local authorities, community leaders and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
• Supervise field staff, manage administrative functions and ensure adherence to security, compliance and reporting standards.
• Support strategic decision‑making by providing field‑level insights and data to senior management.
• Coordinate with IRC partners and local NGOs to strengthen program delivery and community engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing field operations in humanitarian or emergency response settings.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance and coordination requirements in conflict‑affected environments.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with government officials, partners and local communities.
• Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary field team.

Required skills

• Experience in field management and program support.
