Education Technical Consultant (Yemeni Candidates Only)

About the role

The Education Technical Consultant will provide technical leadership for the Sustaining Education and Learning (SEAL) project in Yemen. Working closely with the SEAL Project Director and Education Technical Advisor, the consultant ensures that all education activities meet Save the Children standards and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical quality assurance for student‑focused sub‑components (learning materials, ASER, reading, remedial) and teacher‑focused sub‑components (training, coaching, supervision systems).
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Education at central, governorate and district levels and with partners such as UNICEF.
• Draft, review and validate operational guidelines, training manuals and pedagogical resource packages.
• Advise on the design and adaptation of remedial education, reading programmes and targeted support packages for students and teachers.
• Review and refine the technical framework for the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) assessment.

Required profile

• Yemeni national, fluent in English and Arabic.
• Proven experience in education programme design and implementation in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with World Bank/GPE guidelines and national education strategies.
• Ability to work with government officials and international partners.
• Willingness to undergo rigorous background checks to ensure child safety.
