Economic Recovery Intern – Humanitarian Field Support

About the role

The Economic Recovery Intern will provide supervised field and administrative support for livelihood and cash‑based assistance programmes. Working closely with senior staff, the intern will assist with beneficiary registration, data management, and distribution activities in a humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of KFW, MPCA and other economic recovery activities according to approved workplans.
• Assist in beneficiary identification, registration, verification, vulnerability and market assessments.
• Provide logistical support for MPCA distribution, including site preparation, attendance checks and crowd‑management.
• Support KFW livelihood initiatives such as literacy, business skills, vocational training and agricultural activities.
• Prepare and verify field documentation; enter, clean and upload data using KoboToolbox and Excel.
• Assist with field monitoring, post‑distribution monitoring, coaching visits and issue escalation.
• Coordinate with local authorities, community representatives, partners and DRC teams.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or early‑career candidate (graduated within the last three years).
• No formal humanitarian experience required; volunteering, community work or data collection experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work under close supervision and follow established SOPs.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with beneficiaries.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and cleaning.
• Familiarity with KoboToolbox or similar data collection platforms.
