Economic Recovery Assistant

About the role

The Economic Recovery Assistant will support the implementation of KfW and EU‑funded agriculture and economic recovery programmes in Al Turbah, Al Shamayatien and surrounding communities in Taiz, Yemen. Working closely with the Economic Recovery Officer/Manager, the assistant will help ensure activities are delivered on time, meet donor requirements and adhere to DRC standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with beneficiary identification, registration, verification and community mobilisation.
• Support field data collection, market actor mapping and verification of agricultural input suppliers, buyers, training providers and financial service providers.
• Facilitate literacy, life‑skills, business‑skills and vocational training sessions.
• Coordinate farmer‑group activities, climate‑smart agriculture interventions, post‑harvest handling/value‑addition, SRFF/VSLA and natural‑resource‑management actions.
• Track attendance, document outputs and prepare regular reports for donors and internal stakeholders.
• Provide day‑to‑day follow‑up with partners, market actors and DRC technical teams.

Required profile

• Experience in field‑level implementation of livelihood or agricultural projects in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to work with rural women, vulnerable households and community representatives.
• Strong organisational skills for beneficiary documentation, data collection and reporting.
• Good communication skills for community sensitisation and partner coordination.
