Country Director – Yemen

About the role

The Country Director for Yemen leads ZOA’s country office, providing strategic vision and operational oversight to deliver humanitarian assistance in a complex emergency environment. This senior position is responsible for ensuring that programmes, people and resources work together to achieve sustainable impact for communities affected by conflict and natural disasters.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the country strategy in line with ZOA’s global objectives.
• Oversee programme design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, development and wellbeing.
• Ensure effective financial and resource management, including budgeting and reporting.
• Represent ZOA externally with donors, partners, government authorities and media.
• Maintain compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements and local regulations.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or development settings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, multi‑disciplinary teams in conflict‑affected areas.
• Strong understanding of programme management, resource allocation and donor relations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a track record of external representation.
