Country Director – Yemen

About the role

Relief International is seeking a Country Director to lead its Yemen mission. This senior position will guide a multi‑sector humanitarian programme, ensuring strategic alignment with evolving needs while representing the organization to donors, government bodies and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic vision for Relief International’s Yemen operations.
• Oversee programme delivery, financial management, compliance and resource allocation.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, government authorities, UN agencies, clusters and other stakeholders.
• Ensure robust risk, safety and security management and promote a strong duty‑of‑care culture.
• Lead, mentor and develop national and international staff, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing team.
• Travel frequently within Yemen and occasionally abroad as required.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive proven experience providing country‑level leadership for multi‑sector humanitarian programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, complex operations and diverse stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, donor requirements and security protocols.
