Communications Officer

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Communications Officer for its Yemen Country Office in Aden. The role supports internal and external communications, community engagement, and media relations to strengthen programme delivery and build trust among beneficiaries, partners, donors and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement internal communication tools to keep staff informed and motivated.
• Engage with local communities to gather feedback, address misinformation and promote two‑way dialogue.
• Manage relationships with local media, prepare press releases and organise media events.
• Support external communication and fundraising campaigns, producing evidence‑based content that showcases WFP impact.
• Coordinate with the Partnerships and Communications unit to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
