METAL Coordinator – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The METAL Coordinator provides national leadership and oversight to ensure the Yemen program meets Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (METAL) commitments. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Programs, the role is based in Aden and involves occasional travel to program sites across Yemen.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to design, implement and improve data systems, logical frameworks, METAL plans and data collection tools across all project phases.
• Develop and operationalize METAL budgets, staffing structures and data visualization platforms, including CommCare and PowerBI dashboards.
• Lead the design and execution of surveys, baseline and end‑line assessments, and oversee external evaluations in coordination with program teams.
• Supervise and mentor the METAL team, set performance objectives, conduct regular reviews and foster a culture of evidence‑based decision making.
• Collaborate with partners to integrate MEAL principles into joint monitoring visits, capacity‑building activities and accountability mechanisms.
