Emergency Specialist (Level 3) – Fixed Term – Aden, Yemen

About the role

Under the supervision of the senior emergency manager, you will lead the design and implementation of emergency preparedness and response activities for UNICEF in Yemen. The role focuses on safeguarding the lives and well‑being of children, mothers and affected communities during crises.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update the country office emergency preparedness plan.
• Coordinate and implement emergency response operations, including rapid assessments and relief distribution.
• Manage emergency projects, ensuring timely delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Maintain emergency information systems, analyse data, and produce situation reports.
• Track resources and expenditures to support informed decision‑making.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or related fields.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in programme development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation at national or international level.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other partners.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
