Economic Recovery Intern – Humanitarian Field Support

About the role

The Economic Recovery Intern will provide supervised field and administrative support for KFW and EU‑funded economic recovery programmes in Yemen. Working closely with senior staff, the intern will assist communities, collect data, and help deliver livelihood trainings.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of KFW and EU economic recovery activities according to workplans and SOPs.
• Assist with community entry, sensitisation, beneficiary registration, verification, needs and market assessments, and feedback collection.
• Support trainings and livelihood activities such as life‑skills, business skills, vocational training, agriculture/post‑harvest, women’s groups, biogas projects and business follow‑up.
• Prepare and check field documentation; enter, clean, upload and archive data using KoboToolbox and Microsoft Excel.
• Assist field monitoring, coaching visits and beneficiary communication; promptly flag protection, access or quality issues.
• Coordinate with local authorities, community committees, women representatives, service providers and DRC teams.
• Apply DRC Code of Conduct, safeguarding, data protection and safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Fresh graduate or early‑career candidate from Al Turbah, Al Shamayatien or nearby areas, graduated within the last three years.
• No formal humanitarian experience required; volunteering, community work or data collection is an advantage.
• Highly motivated, disciplined, eager to learn and passionate about humanitarian work and women’s economic empowerment.
• Basic understanding of the local context and ability to communicate culturally appropriately.
