Case Worker (Social Outreach Worker)

About the role

The Case Worker (Social Outreach Worker) provides timely case management for vulnerable migrants, ensuring their protection needs are assessed, addressed, and monitored. Working under the supervision of the Activity Coordinator/Protection Officer, the role builds trust and offers emotional support while coordinating material assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Interview individuals identified through outreach or referrals and open cases when vulnerability criteria are met.
• Distribute non‑food items (NFIs) and emergency food with volunteers, adhering to protection principles.
• Conduct Psychological First Aid, identify stress signs, and provide emotional support.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, considering psychosocial, protection, and risk factors.
• Visit homes when necessary to evaluate living conditions.
• Develop tailored case plans with clients and refer them to appropriate services, accompanying them when required.
• Maintain regular follow‑up meetings, document progress on the internal case management platform, and ensure confidentiality.
• Close cases once objectives are met and no further needs are identified.
• Collaborate with local service providers, report service gaps, and participate in internal case management meetings.

Required profile

• University degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field (asset).
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in protection, case management, or humanitarian assistance.
• Ability to obtain informed consent and respect confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with vulnerable populations.
