Project Officer

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Project Officer to support the UN Peace Support Facility (PSF) in Yemen. The role focuses on coordinating project activities, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with UNDP policies while promoting gender equality and knowledge management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of project work plans, monitor progress against objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Liaise with government bodies, civil society, academia and development partners to facilitate programme delivery and partnership building.
• Collaborate with UNDP programme, finance, procurement and communications teams to ensure procedural compliance.
• Prepare progress reports, financial updates, meeting minutes and other project documentation.
• Maintain risk registers, issue logs and asset records, ensuring timely follow‑up and reporting.
• Document lessons learned, success stories and best practices for knowledge management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in project coordination, programme management or partnership engagement.
• Knowledge of procurement, administrative and operational processes.
• Strong analytical, research, information‑management and reporting abilities.
• Understanding of gender equality and gender‑mainstreaming principles.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
