Project Coordinator Support Officer

About the role

The Project Coordinator Support Officer assists the Project Coordinator with security management, project coordination and engagement with local and national authorities. The role also contributes to contextual analysis and follow‑up, in line with MSF procedures, to support the safe and effective operation of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Represent MSF alongside the Project Coordinator, using agreed communications and supporting the organization’s reputation.
• Track security, risk and contextual developments, share analysis with the Project Coordinator and maintain security records.
• Support exploratory visits, assessments and the preparation of security plans and tools.
• Organise MSF information sessions for staff, Ministry of Health personnel, authorities and community representatives, and keep meeting logs.
• Maintain contacts with local organisations, UN agencies, authorities, media and other relevant actors, arranging advocacy meetings as needed.
• Translate, review documents and interpret when required, assisting correspondence with authorities and counterparts.
• Brief incoming staff and visitors on local context, culture and security, and coordinate regular briefings for assessment teams, drivers and guards.
• Assist the Project Coordinator with project planning, oversight, follow‑up, movement‑related documents and daily coordination meetings.

Required profile

• University diploma, preferably in a social science field such as political science, international public law, anthropology or economics.
• Experience working in a complex political, security and humanitarian setting, including data collection, reporting and analysis.
• Strong spoken and written Arabic and English.
• Strong understanding of MSF principles and values, and interest in humanitarian issues.
