Program Coordinator – Humanitarian Operations

About the role

INTERSOS is seeking a Program Coordinator to support its mission in Yemen. Based in Aden with regular field visits, the role will assist the Head of Mission in shaping, implementing and monitoring humanitarian programmes that address health, nutrition, protection, water, sanitation and livelihoods for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Mission in developing and managing the mission programme in line with INTERSOS strategies and policies.
• Lead the drafting of concept notes and project proposals together with the Regional Programme Coordinator and senior management.
• Supervise, coordinate and provide guidance to Project Managers and Programme Managers to ensure effective implementation.
• Monitor programme performance, ensure compliance with donor requirements and contribute to MEAL activities.
• Maintain regular communication with local partners, authorities and stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in International Development, Humanitarian Affairs, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in programme coordination or management within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to work in conflict‑affected environments and to travel frequently to field locations.
• Strong analytical, reporting and budgeting skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with programme design, proposal writing and donor reporting.
• Knowledge of MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) frameworks.
• Ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
