Procurement Officer (Medical Supplies)

About the role

The Procurement Officer will ensure the continuous availability of medicines, medical equipment, and related services for operations in Aden Governorate. The role focuses on securing the best value through negotiation, managing tender processes, and overseeing supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Contact qualified medical suppliers to request quotations and bids for medicines and supplies.
• Participate in bid opening sessions, record data, and attend evaluation meetings.
• Assist in technical and financial analysis of bids according to tender documents and procurement guidelines.
• Prepare, negotiate, and review contracts for medical supplies, coordinating with the legal department.
• Monitor supplier compliance with delivery timelines, quality specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Supervise inspection teams, verify final acceptance, and maintain accurate procurement records for audits.
• Track medical supply chains, including expiration dates, storage conditions, and distribution to health facilities.
• Conduct field visits to health facilities to verify safe storage and dispensing practices.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the health sector.
• Knowledge of tendering procedures, contract negotiation, and supplier evaluation.
• Ability to work with legal and monitoring teams to ensure compliance.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
