New Business and Proposal Development Specialist Consultant

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a New Business and Proposal Development Specialist Consultant to support its resource mobilisation and business development efforts in Yemen. The consultant will work remotely or from the Aden office for an initial 6‑7 month period, reporting to the Resource Mobilisation & Business Development Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyse new business opportunities and donor prospects in the humanitarian sector.
• Develop and write high‑quality funding proposals, concept notes and grant applications.
• Support resource mobilisation strategies, including market research and donor outreach.
• Collect programme‑related data, conduct interviews and prepare communications material.
• Review and contribute to child safeguarding measures, risk assessments and vetting procedures for staff involved in child‑focused programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, proposal writing or fundraising, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of donor landscapes and grant‑making processes.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and maintain high standards of child protection.
