Health & Nutrition Project Officer – Taiz (4‑month contract)

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Project Officer will support the daily operational management of primary health‑care activities in Taiz, Yemen. Working under the Health and Nutrition Programme Manager, the officer will ensure technical quality, timely information flow, and compliance with national protocols across multiple health services.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise primary health‑care activities at health facilities, focusing on CMAM, IMCI, OPD, reproductive health (ANC, PNC, EmONC, FP), EPI, IYCF and referral services.
• Oversee comprehensive training programmes for health and nutrition workers, ensuring full documentation, reporting and archiving of training records.
• Raise and track purchase requests according to the project budget, following the process through distribution and payment.
• Monitor and evaluate health‑service delivery against national protocols and provide technical support to service providers.
• Ensure timely flow of information between field sites and programme management.

Required profile

• Experience in managing health and nutrition projects in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Familiarity with national health protocols and community‑based nutrition approaches.
• Ability to supervise staff, coordinate trainings and handle procurement processes.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CMAM (Community‑Based Management of Acute Malnutrition) programmes.
• Understanding of IMCI (Integrated Management of Childhood Illness) guidelines.
• Experience with Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) services.
• Competence in reproductive health services (ANC, PNC, EmONC, FP).
• Proficiency in health‑project procurement and purchase request procedures.
