Health & Nutrition Community Mobilization Assistant

About the role

The Health & Nutrition Community Mobilization Assistant will work under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Community Mobilization Officer to support the implementation of community‑based health and nutrition activities in the Taiz catchment area. The role focuses on sensitising villages, supporting community volunteers, and ensuring regular screening and awareness sessions for targeted communities.

Key responsibilities

• Sensitise communities across all villages in the catchment area and secure their understanding and support for health and nutrition activities.
• Identify and support Community Health and Nutrition Volunteers, Mother‑to‑Mother Support Group Leaders, and iCCM volunteers.
• Assist communities in recruiting volunteers when none are available.
• Participate in developing training modules and teaching materials for volunteers.
• Support Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in organising and conducting screening sessions according to the health and nutrition unit schedule.
• Facilitate regular awareness sessions and help CHVs deliver them to communities.
• Assist CHVs in follow‑up visits to households for new admissions, defaulters, and other cases.

Required profile

• Experience or familiarity with community health or nutrition programmes.
• Ability to work closely with community volunteers and support their field activities.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills for community sensitisation.
• Willingness to travel to villages within the assigned catchment area.
• Capacity to follow supervision, reporting, and safeguarding procedures.
