Emergency Programme Coordinator

About the role

The Emergency Programme Coordinator will strengthen Action contre la Faim's emergency preparedness and response capacities in Yemen, ensuring timely, effective, and coordinated humanitarian assistance across all programme areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and operationalise emergency preparedness and contingency plans for the country office.
• Design and lead the implementation of emergency response standard operating procedures aligned with programme, finance, logistics, HR and security policies.
• Coordinate and activate emergency responses, ensuring quality assistance to populations affected by crises.
• Monitor humanitarian, political and operational contexts to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
• Engage with donors, partners and coordination mechanisms to enhance ACF's emergency positioning and resource mobilisation.
• Represent ACF in humanitarian coordination fora such as clusters, working groups and inter‑agency platforms.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Relations, humanitarian work or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector, including at least 3 years managing emergency response programmes.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); previous experience in Yemen is an asset.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract (6 months) under French legislation.
• Monthly gross salary from €2,597 to €2,968, plus 13th month payment.
• Additional allowances: monthly per diem USD 730, country allowance €450, child allowance up to €6,000 per year.
