Communications Analyst (Open to Internal & External Applicants)

About the role

The Communications Analyst will support UNDP Yemen’s Climate Change, Water, Energy and Environment (CCWEE) portfolio, focusing on the Integrated Water Resources Management for Enhanced Resilience (IWRM‑ERA) project in Taiz and Lahj. The role combines strategic communication planning with day‑to‑day visibility activities to raise awareness of climate‑resilient water management and related initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and outreach plans for the IWRM‑ERA project and other CCWEE initiatives.
• Produce press releases, briefing notes, social media content, and visual materials to showcase project achievements.
• Coordinate media relations, organize events, and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
• Maintain a repository of project documents, success stories, and knowledge‑sharing resources.
• Support cross‑portfolio visibility for GEF, GCF and bilateral donor activities, ensuring consistent thematic messaging.

Required profile

• University degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and executing communication strategies for development or environmental programmes.
• Strong writing, editing and storytelling abilities in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with government, NGOs, donors and local communities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
